Steamboats played an important role in the development of the Mississippi River basin and its tributaries, allowing convenient transportation in both directions of the river for both passengers and cargo. Plank-on-bulkhead kit. Pre-cut ribs and hardwood parts are included for hull, deck and super-structure construction. Moulded wooden pieces are included for the bow and stern sections. Fittings include brass decorations, ships bell, steering wheel, handrails and chain. Windows, doors, funnel tops and paddle wheels are cast metal. Galvanized wire, brass cables and cotton rigging are all provided along with small brass nails. Illustrated instruction book makes building easy.
